2023 Wedding trends you won't regret doing

And with the start of a new year, I am excited to share with you the wedding trends that I hope will be big in 2023 (And used by you, if it inspires you). From vibrant, unique colour palettes to unconventional venues, the wedding industry is seeing a shift towards a more personalised and intimate approach to weddings, and with that, a bigger opportunity to be creative in all facets of your wedding day. So, whether you're a soon-to-be bride or groom, or simply a lover of all things weddings, read on to find out what's in store for the upcoming year.

GARDEN PARTY VENUES

Garden parties have always been a popular choice for events, and it's not hard to see why. But in 2023, I hope to see more of it being the venue for weddings, big or small. The natural beauty of a garden setting provides a picturesque and serene background for any occasion. Whether you're hosting a wedding ceremony or reception, (or both!) it always offers a unique and charming atmosphere that your guests will love.

One of the biggest advantages of having a garden party is the flexibility it offers. It offers breathing room for those on a tighter budget, or those that want to celebrate in their family home. Garden venues can come in all shapes and sizes, and can be tailored to suit any event. For example, a grand and spacious garden can accommodate a large number of guests, while a smaller and more intimate garden can create a cozy and romantic ambiance.

Another great thing about garden parties is the abundance of fresh air and natural light. This makes it easy to create beautiful, natural-looking photos and videos of the event that your guests will treasure for years to come.

If you're considering a garden party venue, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Make sure the garden is in good condition and well-maintained. You don't want your guests to be dodging weeds and dead flowers.

• Consider the weather and have a backup plan in case of inclement weather. A tent or canopy can provide shelter and keep the party going, regardless of the forecast.

EMBROIDERY ON DETAILS

Embroidery details are a beautiful and unique way to add a touch of elegance and personalization to your wedding day. From delicate embroidered lace on a bride's gown to intricate designs on a groom's suit, these details add a special touch that is so unique.

As a photographer, I love capturing these intricate details in my images. The way the light catches the threads, the way the designs add texture and depth to the photo. It's these little details that make a big impact on the overall look and feel of the wedding.

One of the great things about embroidery details is that they can be incorporated in many different ways. You can have a fully embroidered gown or a subtle design on the collar of a shirt. They can be used on wedding invitations, table linens, and even on wedding shoes. The possibilities are endless.

FEATHER BRIDAL PJ's

Girls just wanna have.... feathers. And you know what, I'm here for it.

First off, let's talk about the obvious: they're just plain fun. I mean, who doesn't love a little bit of feathery fluff? But more than that, feather bridal pajamas add a playful and unexpected element to your getting ready photos. They're a great way to show off your personality and add a touch of whimsy to your big day.

But let's not forget the practicality of it all. Not only do feather bridal pajamas make for great photos, but they're also super comfortable. And as any bride knows, comfort is key on your wedding day. Plus, they're perfect for a cozy post-ceremony lounging sesh or a fun photo shoot.

POPS OF COLOUR!

This is easily my favourite. I love colour! And this trend is something that I have been loving lately.

Couples are now embracing a more colorful approach, incorporating hues that reflect their personalities and style. From a bold and vibrant bouquet to colorful decor and linens, the use of color adds a unique and dynamic element to the overall look and feel of the wedding.

One of the great things about incorporating color into your wedding is that it can add depth and dimension to your photos. A pop of color can draw the eye and make for a more interesting composition. Plus, it allows for a wide range of creative opportunities when it comes to post-processing and editing. And... it is JOYFUL!

'SOMETHING BLUE' SHOES

Blue shoes may seem like a small detail, but they can add a pop of color and personality to the overall look of the wedding. It's a subtle and elegant way to incorporate a touch of blue, which is a colour that symbolises trust, loyalty, and wisdom. They also tick off the 'something blue' tradition if you are a fan of the little traditions.

Another advantage of having blue shoes on your wedding day is that they can make for some truly stunning photographs. The blue shoes can be used as a focal point, adding a splash of color to the overall composition.

FRILLY BRIDESMAID'S DRESSES

Let me tell you, frilly bridesmaid dresses are having a moment, and I am here for it!

Couples are now embracing a more playful and feminine approach, incorporating ruffles, lace, and other frilly details into their bridesmaids' attire. And let me tell you, it's a trend that adds a whole lot of sass and flair to a wedding day.

Not only do frilly bridesmaid dresses add a unique and dynamic element to the overall look and feel of the wedding, but they also make for some seriously stunning photographs. The movement and texture of the ruffles and lace add depth and dimension to the images, making them truly stand out. But, don't just take my word for it, try it out for yourself! Have your bridesmaids rock some frilly frocks!

ILLUSTRATIVE MENU'S

Another trend that I have been seeing more and more of lately is the use of illustrative menus as part of the decor. This trend combines the elegance of calligraphy with the whimsy style of illustration, creating a unique and visually stunning addition to any wedding.

Illustrative menus are a great way to add a personal touch to your wedding and make it stand out. They can be customized to match your theme, color scheme, and personal style. Plus, they can be used as part of the table decor and also serve as a keepsake for your guests to take home.
