Wild Heart Weddings is all about the authentic. The focus is on your story, and the love you share. After all, that's the most important thing.

Wild Heart Weddings, is a distinguished, registered wedding photography and film team based from South Africa. We focus on a fusion of artistry and heartfelt devotion. We aim to be rooted in the 'real', the unscripted moments - we have a profound appreciation for the untamed beauty of authentic love stories. We strive to sow trust and comfort in our clients, allowing you to fully be yourself on your day. We love the candid, the raw emotion, the sparkle and the simple. MEET CARLA
Hi!
I am Carla, the voice behind all the admin & emails, as well as the main photographer + videographer in Wild Heart Weddings. I currently live in Johannesburg, where I spend most of my time adventuring, shooting your unique love stories, and occasionally creating music in my band.

I pursued languages and visual arts in my varsity studies, trying desperately to pursue anything creative on the side lines, but soon ignited my passion for photography again. I started off shooting Film Photography, something which taught me about being intentional while shooting. Photography and Visual Representation should be true to the individual, and I seek moments of genuine connection.
​
Wild Heart Weddings was mostly born + inspired by my own love story (aren't most things?) which partly renewed kindness, loyalty, and most importantly my own wild heart again. I was inspired by the term 'wild heart' as I truly believe each one of us share a wildness in our hearts, for God's glory.
​
Three things I adore; my grandpa (Avô in Portuguese), crisp-early morning walks with my overly energetic dog, and being still in nature, (It's good for the soul.)

We are a husband and wife duo living in JHB, with James being your videographer. Our wedding was truly the best day of our lives ever, so we know how important it is to capture the feeling & memories of a wedding day for yours.

DO YOU TRAVEL FOR DESTINATION WEDDINGS?
Of course! We love to travel and have plenty of experience capturing weddings outside our zip code. We have captured weddings in Limpopo, The Garden Route, and the Western Cape just to name a few. Destination weddings are some of our favourite events!

HOW DO YOU DEAL WITH WEDDING DAY DISASTERS?
With many years of experience, we always make sure there is a back-up plan for every situation. By staying organised and maintaining clear communication throughout the day, we do our best to eliminate issues before they arise. We aim to be helpful in every situation.

WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE OF US FALLS SICK/AN EMERGENCY HAPPENS?
We have a broad range of capable photographers/videographers that we work with very closely, that have similar styles to what we promote. In an unlikely event of an emergency/sickness, we will ensure a photographer/videographer will be at your wedding, and deliver the same services paid for.

DO WE MANAGE THE PHOTO-BOOTHS AT WEDDINGS?
We do not control/manage the photo-booths at weddings. We aim to capture all the details, down to the table-decor, and precious moments, and therefore we can't focus our time on capturing guests in the photo-booths. We request if you want a dedicated photographer for a photo-booth, to contact us and we can give you a quote.

HOW DOES PAYMENT AND RELEASE OF IMAGES WORK?
We ask for a 50% deposit to secure your wedding day, as well as a signed booking wedding contract. Before, or 1-10 days after your wedding day, we require the rest of the remaining balance to be paid in full, before the release of your full wedding gallery/video.
